Work has begun!

Last week we began excavating the ground for the “Icing on a Burnt Cake” project. Our awesome ground crew, consisting of Chorak Excavation and volunteers from Unity Reformed Church came together and sifted out the debris from about half of the total land. Starting from the back end of the project line we had the easier section of land to work with and surprisingly had less trash than we anticipated. That’s great! It means the land is in a healthier place to begin. From this section we uncovered sections of concrete, glass bottles, ceramic pieces, and lots of scrap metal…including a railroad wheel of some sort and some very large sections of pipe.
